HADDO House library was the secen of a very special launch ceremony last week, as the new annual Arts Festival was launched.

Representatives from Haddo’s various user groups gathered at the library with sponsors of the new event for the official launch, which presages the main events to be held in October.

Events at the Haddo Arts Festival, from October 6 to October 14, will include performances and exhibitions by some of the country’s most notable performers and artists in opera, ballet and classical music.

Property manager Julie Lorimer said: “In these days of financial austerity, the arts are even more important to support people’s morale. Bringing performers of such excellence to Haddo with reasonable ticket prices will attract new audiences, which will have a knock on effect at Haddo House for the rest of the year.

Additionally the festival will help raise the profile of the truly beautiful Haddo House, ensuring it has a vibrant future with healthy funding and increased numbers of visitors annually. Haddo House should be a major player in maintaining the artistic culture of the North East.”
