Music Festival postponed

ORGNISERS of this weekends Inverurie Music Gala, due to take place on Sunday, June 17, have had to postpone the event due to the threat of bad weather.

The event organised by Chalmers Mackay Music School in association with Inverurie Events was due to have run from 11am to 5pm at Inverurie’s Market Green, but as a lot of electrical equipment would have been involved in staging the Gala and the forecast is for rain on Sunday, it was decided in the interests of safety to postpone the event.

Organisers say the the Gala will be re-scheduled for later in the summer, with a new date subject to the availability of Market Green.

Compered by NorthSound Radio’s Cammy Campbell and featuring a variety of musical acts including Intuition, The Garioch Fiddlers, Big Riff Manifesto and Jolson, will be staged to raise funds for new Christmas Lights for the town. Details of the re-scheduled date will appear in the Herald as soon as is confirmed.
