A new venture allowing children and parents to get creative is making its way to an Ellon church this weekend.
Families from the town can head along to St Mary-on-the-Rock church where new event - Messy Church - will be offering a mixture of activities.
Ellon’s first Messy Church will be held this Saturday, March 1 from 10.30am to 12.30pm- but families can drop in at anytime.
The event kicks off with refreshments for the adults and play time for the kids.
The children can then get to grips with the various crafts on offer as well as a treasure hunt based on the theme of the day.
The theme for this weekend’s event will be Joseph so there will be a giant collage for the children to help make based on his coat-of-many-colours and other activities based on events from his life.
At around 12pm everyone comes together to hear the story of Joseph, sing songs and play games.
One of the driving forces behind the event, organiser, Henna Cundill, said: “Messy Church is designed for children aged 3 to 11 and their families (all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times).
“Messy Church has a ‘come when you can, leave when you must’ atmosphere - as we know families have other commitments on Saturdays and may need to arrive late or leave early.
Ellon’s next Messy Church is scheduled for Saturday, June 14.
