Children in Inverurie will once again have the opportunity to learn how to care for pets responsibly this summer.
Pets at Home is launching its Kids’ Holiday Pet Club which are specially designed to educate children on responsible pet ownership in a fun-filled, friendly and interactive environment.
Children who participate will be able to interact with a wide variety of popular pets and will get friendly support from the highly trained, who are also mostly pet owners.
Store Manager Neil Jack said staff wanted to share their expertise with as many local children as possible, to ensure pets live happy, healthy lives.
“Our ‘Furry Friends’ workshops will teach children how to best look after a variety of small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats or gerbils. The ‘Scales and Fins’ workshops will focus on reptiles, fish and wildlife.”
Workshops will take place at the store at least three times a week and will last approximately 30 minutes.
To find out when the workshops will be taking place, simply contact the Inverurie team using the store locator at www.petsathome.com/storelocator. Children taking part will receive a free activity book, which includes puzzles and activities as well as stickers and a certificate.
Pets at Home colleagues will also be on hand to answer any questions parents or children may have about the best diet for their pet, while qualified in-store experts can dispense leading licensed flea and worming treatments. Free weight checks for dogs will also be available.
