Local postie, Graham Watson, was back on the fundraising trail again last Saturday (July 2) when he held a Strawberry Tea in the Royal British Legion, to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care.
There was a homebake stall, a nearly new stall, and representative from Brarai.co.uk was on hand to show some of their lines in mastectomy lingerie.
There were also three different types of therapies available for people to try. Therapists specialising in Bowen therapy, Shiatsu and Indian Head Massage were on hand giving 20 minute taster sessions.
The event was very well attended on the day with a total of £224 raised for Breast Cancer Care.
Graham’s employers, Royal Mail, once again matched funding to the tune of £200 so Breast Cancer Care will benefit from the £424 raised at this event.
Graham said: “I would like to say a really big thank you to the companies that sponsored and donated to the event. These are Fetternear Fruit, Farmfoods, Paradise Clinic, Thomas St. Fries mobile caterers, and Tesco.
“I would also like to thank the Royal British Legion who let me use the hall and a big thank you goes to Kath, the cook, for a sterling job in the kitchen.”
Graham will be running another charity event on August 28th in the Gushet Bar, Kemnay. More details will be available nearer the time.
