The Rotary Club of Kintore, Kemnay and District has donated diesel pumps to Kembhill Park and Milton Meadows flood resilience groups.

It is almost a year since the River Don burst its banks and engulfed significant parts of the Kembhill Park and Milton Meadows areas of Kemnay.

There were no emergency services providing support in Kemnay during the flood that night as the village was cut off by flood waters.

Shortly after the floods the two resilience groups were formed and have been working hard to engage the relevant authorities to provide solutions to the different issues affecting both communities.

Various pieces of equipment were identified to help cope with future floods, including diesel powered high pressure high flow pumps, and the Rotary Club of Kintore Kemnay and District, with the support from the Rotary District 1010 Flood Fund, agreed to supply one pump plus the associated hoses to each of the two groups.

Ken Ledingham and Irene Ferguson were delighted to accept the pumps which they hoped would be the first of many donations.
