In a bid to raise a target figure of £1600, a Chapel of Garioch man ran the London Marathon held last month in a record time of three hours, 50 minutes and 31 seconds.

Neil Murray is a member of the Garioch Road Runners and ran on behalf of Asthma UK.

In order to raise awareness and also to raise funds for the event, Neil and wife Jennifer held a successful and enjoyable gig at Gadies in Oyne, with, they said “great food and superb music.

In addition, many other local businesses including Ola Oil, Mitchells, Smokehouse, Hoodles, Ardmore Distillery plus local artist Roselyne O’Neil supported the event by providing the event.

Jennifer Murray said: “We also had a Guess my Time sheet and my jewellery is still available from Touched by Scotland and Country Frames Gallery.

“We would like to thank everyone for all their support and encouragement.”
