ROCKY the Shetland Pony, who became a local celebrity when he appeared twice in the Herald last year. Firstly when he paid a visit to Rothienorman Primary School, to the delight of the children, and then when he was adopted by a second “mum”.

Now Rocky, or Rocky of Haybrake to give him his full title, is also an award winner, scooping three prizes at the North of Scotland Shetland Pony Group Show held at the Fountain Equestrian Centre, Dyce last Sunday (October 16).

Rocky won “Best Yearling”, “Champion Young Stock” and “Overall Mini Champion”.

Owner Ann Taylor said, “He’s a really cheeky character and a bit of a poseur. He has done well anytime he has been in the show ring. Everyone is very proud of him.”
