DURING the month of September, Aberdeen based photographer David Muirhead will be exhibiting work in The Acorn Gallery in The Acorn Centre in Inverurie’s West Church.
Dave was born and brought up in Fort William, in the wet but stunning West Coast of Scotland. He moved to Glasgow to study geology in 2002 followed by a move to Aberdeen to start a PhD in 2006. That same year he got married to Laura, a GP, and they now have a two year old son, and a dog called Eb. Always having an eye for the slightly different angle on a view or image, Dave’s passion for photography has been an ongoing aspect of his life.
His inspiration comes mostly from the natural world around us. Growing up in Fort William, Dave is no stranger to the more rugged countryside Scotland has to offer, and that’s where he began his photography career as a self-taught enthusiast. Through his research for his PhD Dave has had the opportunity to travel extensively and further develop his photography skills.
More information about Dave and examples of his work can be found at www.muirheadphotography.co.uk
