A collection of stamps to celebrate the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games were recently launched by a group of swimming legends.

Scottish swimming legend David Wilkie MBE and Commonwealth Games defending champion Robbie Renwick revealed the Royal Mail’s special stamps last week.

David Wilkie said: “It is a privilege to launch these stamps and for everyone across the UK to be able to own a piece of Commonwealth Games history.”

The stamps feature illustrations from sports including swimming, squash, judo, netball and the marathon representing Athletics.

Designed by Howard Brown, the stamps include illustrations by Dutch artist Nanette Hoogslag as well as photography by Andy Hooper, chief sports photographer at the Daily Mail.

Robbie Renwick added: “These stamps are certain to spur me on to have a successful Commonwealth Games. I hope lots of people go out and buy them and post letters all over the world with them.”

The stamps are on sale now at royalmail.com/glasgow214 and across 10,000 Post Offices.
