A group of youngsters in Ellon have been praised for their commitment in a local class run in the town.
The Ellon Junior Jog group was set up by the Ellon Active Schools Coordinator Susan Guthrie last year.
It was created with the aim of getting more kids involved in jogging.
The group is suitable for children in Primary 4 right through to S1.
It is run by Susan with the help of a committed group of parent volunteers.
The popular group is growing each and every week.
They currently have 50 children registered with approximately 40 attending every week.
The kids spent last term and the first couple of weeks back this term training for the Middleton Trust 3k event.
Over half of those in the group managed to make it along on the day where they raced in the pouring rain.
One member, Millie Urquhart, won the Under 9s category!
Susan Guthrie said: “They are a fantastic group of kids who really trained hard for the Middleton Trust and we are really proud of them for taking part despite the pouring rain.”
