Inverurie jewellers Sinclairs recently held a successful ball to celebrate their 40th anniversary as well as raise money for two charities.

Around 300 family members, friends, colleagues and customers attended the milestone event at the Thainstone Exchange on Saturday, October 31.

The family-run business marked their 40th anniversary by raising money for CLAN Cancer Support and Befriend a Child in order to give something back into the community.

Sinclairs set themselves a target of raising £40,000 this year for the two charities.

So far the business has successfully raised £35,000.

Sinclairs was originally set up by Tom and Helen Sinclair in 1975 putting Tom’s hobby of repairing clocks and watches to good use.

Helen still keeps an eye on the business, however, Tom sadly passed away in 2011.

The jewellers and coffee shop is now run by Tom and Helen’s children Ian and Debbie.

Ian said: “We are delighted and really proud the Sinclairs Ball has helped us get so close to our target by way of celebrating our family milestone.

“We wanted to give something back to the community that has supported us, so this is an excellent way to say thank you to all our customers and friends.”
