LEARNING sign language has been on offer for staff at Tesco Inverurie to help deliver better customer service at the store.

The course has proved very popular with 12 members of staff completing the ten-week course last week.

USDA union rep at the store, Michelle Ferris explained: “Myself and three other union reps were at a meeting in Elgin where we heard about this opportunity. The course was run jointly by USDA and Scottish Union of Learning.

“The sign language course is open to all members of staff and we’ve had more than 50 signing up for it. We hope to run more courses in the future so that everyone who has shown interest gets an opportunity to learn.

“The course has been a great success – staff have enjoyed themselves thoroughly and everyone had a great time.

“We would like to thank all who participated and the Scottish Union of Learning for giving up their time.”
