Organisers of Ellon’s Hogmanay party are launching a major ticket sales drive.
They are hoping to attract up to 3000 revellers to the town centre for Gig at the Brig 2014.
The countdown is beginning in earnest to the much-anticipated street party and Ellon Events, which is organising the bash, is expecting ticket sales to soon take off.
Wayne Baber, the group’s chairman, told the Times: “Last year’s event was a tremendous success and we are looking to build on that.
“Up until now it’s all been on Facebook and most people who knew us from last year know we’re on Facebook and find us.
“We are now beginning a major push to sell tickets and banners will be going up around the town publicising the Gig.
“Last year we sold 80% of our tickets in December.
“Everything is in place and we are just finalising bits and pieces.”
Tickets for the New Year extravaganza are on sale at Delica, Costcutter, Buchan Hotel and Skin Deep.
They will also be on sale at the town’s Christmas lights switch-on, which takes place on Saturday, November 22.
Prices are £20 for adults, £7.50 for under 18s and under 5s free, although they do need tickets.
They are also available through Ellon Events’ Facebook page and website.
The gig will be opened by the new band Aye Doo and local singer Chloe Milne, followed by Glass Monkey, Silver City Soul Revue - who appeared last year - and headliners, pipe rock and festival favourites The Dangleberries.
Last year’s event attracted more than 2000 party-goers and was rated a major success.
