CELEBRITY builder Tommy Walsh proved one of the top attractions at a North-east home exhibition.
GPH Builders Merchants, based in Inverurie and Westhill, sponsored the well-known TV handyman’s appearance at the event, held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) last weekend.
Almost 11,000 visitors descended on the venue over the course of the weekend, many of whom watched Tommy, who is best known for his appearances on television shows such as Ground Force, perform practical demonstrations and offer hints and tips on home improvement.
Sales and marketing director for GPH, Nikki Mortimer, said: “We were delighted to see Tommy get such a warm reception. His appearance was a big draw for people who enjoyed his hands-on demonstrations on how to make a window box, and hints and tips on wallpapering and painting.
“This was the first year that we have exhibited at the home event and the feedback that we have received from the self-builders, tradespeople and members of the public who visited our stand has been fantastic.”
GPH Builders Merchants exhibited at the self-build zone and showcased products including rain-water, plumbing and drainage, landscaping, cladding, doors and floors, and building timber and joinery.
