A LOCAL woman was fatally injured by a train at Kintore this morning (Thursday, December 27).
The accident occurred just before 8.50am when the emergency services were called to the track at Kintore.
The death was not being treated as suspicious. A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to the line in Kintore, Aberdeenshire on Thursday, 27 December at 8.49am, following a report that a female had been struck and killed by a train.
“There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and a full report will be submitted to the local procurator fiscal.”
Scotrail said that the incident had caused “severe disruption” on the Inverness to Aberdeen line.
