Two seriously injured in Tillycairn accident

FOUR people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary last Saturday after two vehicles collided on the B9170.

A man and a woman were said to have sustained serious injuries, while two others suffered less critical injuries.

The accident happened on the Oldmeldrum/Methlick and Tarves/Barthol Chapel Road at the Tillycairn crossroads at about 5.30pm between a black Vauxhall Corsa and a red Volvo estate car.

Police, fire crew and ambulances were called to the scene just after 5.30pm when the road was closed while ambulance and fire and rescue crews carried out their work and police began their enquiries.

The woman who sustained serious injuries was trapped in her Volvo and had to be cut free of the wreckage. The road remained closed until around 11.30pm.
