CURRENT Locos Interim Chairman Eddie Innes will officially hand over the reigns to returning Chairman Willie Lippe at this Summer's AGM but a new challenge could be awaiting the man associated with the Harlaw Park club for over 32 years.
Sandy Stables' three year reign as Scottish Highland Football League President is about to close and Innes is confirming his intention to stand for the position.
With the challenges ahead regarding Club Licensing and the potential general restruc
turing of Scottish Football the 52 year old property developer feels it is perhaps the right time to step forward, citing his capabilities to commit time and effort for all SHFL business as required.
"I have involvement in business at senior levels and over 20 years involved in Football Club Administration. I have been associated with Inverurie Loco Works FC for over 32 years, currently as Interim Chairman, but previously have also held other positions as Secretary, President, Vice Chairman," said Mr Innes.
"I was Vice President of North Region Juniors prior to Locos joining the SHFL and instigated the formation of an Executive Committee to plan Locos membership to join SHFL."
Innes has been Managing Director of his own property and development Company for last 12 years and held several senior positions with large construction groups prior to that. He also sits on the Grampian House Builders' Committee, is Vice Chairman of Inverurie Business Association and a member of the Inverurie Partnership Forum.
Although any senior League Management Committee with over two years' experience can stand for election, it is believed current Vice President, 69 year old David Brown, Chief Executive of Deveronvale FC, will be the only person opposing Innes at Tuesday night's AGM in Lossiemouth.
