After the match Iain Alexander, Inverurie Locos First Team Coach said, “We’re disappointed but there’s a lot of positives to take out of that. It’s the team that’s so called running away with the league.

“We gave them a real game even with ten men. We had two or three very good chances before they scored. Kieran Adams had one cleared off the line, Neil Gauld was right through, the keeper pulled off a really good save down low.

“They went up and scored a quality goal. Ryan Broadhurst was jockeying him after getting back but Zander Sutherland is a quality player, it was a great finish. We lost a wee bit of belief and needed a 10-15 minutes to regroup. We did and in the second half we started very well again. The way the wind was blowing, it was a great ball from Neil McLean, the keeper came out and got nowhere near it. Neil Gauld did what he does best, sidefooting it into the net.

“I thought we would push on from there. But the difference today was Zander Sutherland. Andy Reid has not had much to do but pick the ball out of the net twice. Without seeing the TV highlights I think I got a good view of the sending off. I saw two guys going in trying to protect themselves. If one had to go then the other had to go as well. I am hoping the cameras will prove me right on that.

“We were very good with ten men. The wind was at our backs but Brora are a very good team. They take their time over the ball, the keeper was wasting time at 1-0 never mind 2-1. We were putting good balls into the box but nobody was in the right position. The guys were given credit for the way they played as a ten man team. The least we deserved was a draw and I couldn’t single out anybody as it was a good team effort.”
