After the match a bitterly disappointed Inverurie Locos Co-Manager Scott Buchan said, “It was very disappointing but I don’t think we did enough to win.
“It was generally quite a poor performance from us, particularly in the final third, wrong decisions on the day and a couple of players were off form.
“Clach are a really good young side with spirit and pace, it doesn’t matter where they are in the League but we just didn’t perform. We didn’t do what we’ve been doing all season and good at, getting the ball forward quickly into wide positions and playing from there. The conditions told you that you should be doing that, there were a lot of long balls in the first half and then later when you get desperate. But it’s just a bad day for us. You cannot be too critical as they’ve been really good up to this point.
“Everyone’s been talking us up about being title contenders, that’s what happens but we didn’t say that. We have our own agendas. You get these kind of days in football.
“We weren’t ready for losing such an early goal, they’ve been told about preparation, in this game it needed to be looked at a little bit closer. Clach came at us and played good football.
“They scored a good goal, a great strike. Gauldy netted a great finish but even after that there wasn’t much for the goalkeeper. Just a couple of crosses and maybe right at the end Neil (Gauld) could have done a little bit better but you cannot be too critical.
“Credit to Clach, they came and won the game, but maybe a draw would’ve been a fairer result.”
