Colony Park Juniors continued their undefeated start to the season in the McBookie Division 1 East with a good 3-0 away win against Fraserburgh United on Saturday.

The opening exchanges were evenly contested with limited opportunities for either team. In 12 minutes Colony almost took the lead when Dorrat fired a low cross from the right just eluding Roddie as he slid in on the ball.

The match continued to be an evenly fought affair with most of the action in the middle of the park. Craib had a shot from distance which went narrowly past the post.

With 28 minutes gone the Broch side had the best chance of the match so far when a well-struck shot was well saved by Colony keeper Farquhar.

Colony had their best period of play in the latter part of the first half when Ross, Dorrat and Roddie all created chances which were just off target.

At the interval honours were even with the match goalless.

At the beginning of the second half Fraserburgh started the brighter and Farquhar was called into action in 48 minutes making a comfortable save from a Broch strike.

A few minutes later Morrison had a good shot well stopped and this was followed up by a double chance for Strachan which the Fraserburgh keeper eventually saved.

Just before the hour mark, Strachan made a great break and was brought down by the final Broch defender resulting in a red card for the home player. From the subsequent free kick the shot was wide.

Colony Park were gradually taking advantage of the extra man and in 63 minutes following a great cross from Roddie, Brown had his shot on target the back post blocked on the line.

Adam Maitland replaced Brown in 64 minutes. Colony Park made the breakthrough in 68 minutes when a Ross, Roddie and Jack Strachan move ended in the latter placing the ball into the corner of the net.

A couple of minutes later Strachan almost added a second with a header superbly saved by the Broch keeper. Fraserburgh continued to work hard to stay in the match and Farquhar had to make a good save to prevent an equaliser in 73 minutes.

A few minutes later Calvin Roddie, who was having a great match, had a shot just wide. However, he wasn’t to be denied, and a couple of minutes later following a strong run he made no mistake with a great strike into the corner of the Fraserburgh net.

A minute later Dorrat had a good chance but shot over from close range. Durno replaced Craib for Colony Park and the visitors continued to dominate play with Greg Dorrat adding a further goal four minutes into time added ensuring a Colony Park win by 3-0. The victory puts Colony at the top of the league after three matches.
