Colony Park take spoils in local derby at Bogbeth Park

Colony Park U14s made the short visit to Bogbeth Park to play Kemnay in an ADJFA B league match.

The opening exchanges were fairly even with few chances made until Daniel Strachan shot over the bar.

Shortly afterwards Andrew McWatt had an opportunity when he controlled Young’s free kick well but the Kemnay keeper held his shot.

At this stage Colony were dominating the play without creating very much and Strachan and Walton both saw left foot shots go just wide of the Kemnay goal.

Towards the end of the half, Jamie Christie brought out a fine save from the home keeper with a fierce shot from the edge of the box.

A slight re-shuffle of the team at half time paid dividends quickly.

Daniel Middler was sent down the left hand side by Fraser and he drilled an excellent low shot past the Kemnay keeper into the far bottom corner.

Shortly afterwards Middler was sent through on goal and the tackle from the home keeper rebounded to Cameron Fraser who fired into the net.

Kemnay weren’t giving up though and were battling away. An error in the Colony defence saw an indirect free-kick awarded for a pass back.

McWatt who had reverted to goal keeper for the second half, positioned himself well to gather the shot from the Kemnay striker.

Colony were creating more chances and Middler had a chance for his second when he beat the keeper but was unable to get the ball out from under his feet in time and the Kemnay defence recovered.

Colony sealed the points with five minutes to go when a through ball from Strachan found Middler who chipped the ball over the onrushing keeper into the net to make the full-time score Kemnay 0, Colony Park 3.
