Colony Park U14s faced a tricky trip to Stonehaven on Sunday, where once again the pitch was very narrow and space was at a premium.
Colony started brightly and could have been ahead by a few goals in the first five minutes, but it took 20 minutes to finally get the ball in the net. Dale Rennie slid a pass to Ryan HARPER in the box and he twisted and turned a few times before slotting the ball into home.
Stonehaven got back into the match when a cross from the left was knocked in for an own goal by a Colony defender.
Colony had to wait until the 52nd minute to grab the lead again, when a lob from Michael Donaldson was picked up by Dale RENNIE and he slotted a curling left foot shot past the keeper into the top corner.
Five minutes later Craig Mackie played an inch perfect pass to RENNIE, and although his shot seemed to defelect off a defender, it always looked like going in, .
Colony should have been cruising to victory but a mix up at the back resulted in the keeper being stranded out of his box allowing a Stonehaven player to hit a shot from 25 yards into the empty net to make the final score Stonehaven 2, Colony Park U14s 3.
Colony Park U13s were in action at Fraserburgh Link Up on Thursday evening and went down by three goals to two. .
