After the match Inverurie Locos co-manager Kenny Coull was delighted with the win.

He said, “The guys had to dig deep. They mixed it with a good bit of quality and it’s a massive result but all it does is keep us right in the pack. They’ve deserved what they’ve got out of the two games, it was cool finishing for the first from Leyden, we brought him to the club for his flair, if you give him the ball in the right positions, he causes trouble for teams.

“There was really nothing in the two Neil Gauld goals chalked off for offside and it proves our forwards are very sharp at the moment.

“There’s good awareness about the team, they’re working for each other as a unit. You never get your own way the whole game against a team top of the table but we made it hard for our opponents to create chances.”

Second goalscorer and Locos captain, Neil McLean proved yet again to be a great leader on the park and was playing down his contribution to the win, saying, “It’s always great to get on the score-sheet but three points was the most important thing. A lot of guys in the dressing room were disappointed to only draw the week before at North Lodge Park but that’s a hard place to go to. To get four points out of six we have to be happy. We did well to come through with a win.”
