A delighted co-manager Kenny Coull admitted he was delighted with the performance shown by the Inverurie side.
He said: “The whole team were firing ammunition, they were fantastic in the opening twenty minutes and went on to dominate the game.
“That result was coming for somebody, our guys were hungry and very confident, and they showed no mercy to Rothes, we were very good, working to the very end.
“It was a tough game for the goalkeeper Ricky Horne, some of the saves he made were outstanding, it was very difficult for them, they worked so hard but we were ruthless. We’ve been winning these games by the odd goal over the past few weeks so it was time we did that to some team, no disrespect to Rothes.
“The last goal was definitely Neil’s, he’ll be claiming it and it’s a real shame on Ricky as he was fantastic throughout.
“You can score goals as much as you want and Neil does that for us, he took his goals very well and that’s what we ask of him but Martin Bavidge was fantastic,he scored great goals as well.
“The goals are coming from everybody. Dean Donaldson was disappointed at coming off early but we now have real quality on the bench. It bodes well for us. There’s nothing better for strikers than scoring goals. Long may it continue.
“We now look forward to back to back games with Formartine, starting at North Lodge Park this Saturday.
The boys will still have to work hard in training, there’ll be no let up. This result gives them real confidence going into those games.”
