Formartine United took their goals tally to an incredible 25 in three games with a 9-0 hammering of lowly Rothes.

Saturday’s home blitz followed 8-1 and 8-2 league victories at Deveronvale and Lossiemouth.

Manager Kris Hunter was pleased with the second half performance which yielded six goals, and Cammy Keith also claimed another hat-trick.

For struggling Rothes it was another rout which leaves them rock bottom, having conceded an average of seven goals in their six fixtures.

Formartine took the lead in the seventh minute when Keith headed home a Lawson corner.

Soon afterwards, Neil McVitie made it 2-0 with a powerful strike.

Lawson scored with a free kick shortly before the interval to put his side in a commanding position.

Rothes had been very much on the receiving end but completely fell apart in the second half.

Garry Wood slotted home a penalty before Keith completed his hat-trick in a four-minite spell.

McVitie got his second with another superb finish to make it 7-0 before Graeme Rodger added another from close range.

The scoring was rounded off in the 75th minute when Scott Barbour gathered a through ball from McVitie to coolly slot home.

Next up for free-scoring United is a trip to Buckie Thistle on Saturday.
