FORMER players of Monymusk AFC are dusting down their boots to take to the field for a special challenge match.
The amateur side’s programme of pre-season friendlies gets under way this Saturday, June 30, when they take on a “Legends” team made up of the “golden oldies” at Deer Park in the village. The kick-off is at 2pm and a barbecue will also be held.
The club, which will know this week whether it has been promoted to Division Two or not, have five other games scheduled at the moment in a hectic pre-season schedule.
On Friday evening, July 6, they face Highland League side Inverurie Loco Works at Harlaw Park, Inverurie, in a testimonial game for long-serving player Graeme “Taz” Smart. Kick-off in this game is at 7.45pm.
Other games lined up are (all at Deer Park unless otherwise stated); Wednesday, July 11, Monymusk v Stoneywood (kick-off 7pm); Monday, July 16, Monymusk v Old Aberdonians (7pm); Saturday, July 21, Monymusk v Kemnay Youth (2pm); Monday, July 23, Beacon Rangers v Monymusk (Strathburn Park, Inverurie, 7pm).
The next training session is at Deer Park on Monday, July 2, at 7pm.
