INVERURIE Locos have this week received confirmation from the Scottish Football Association that their Club Licensing Certificate has been granted.
Locos Executive Committee member Fred Wilson has served the club dutifully over several years on the Health and Safety Advisory front and he was delighted to talk about the excellent news:
Fred said, “It has been a lot of work over three years. We were lucky so much work was done before we first went into the Highland League, with regards to barriers being put in and policies drafted up
“We were in reasonable shape so just fine tuning was needed on the likes of toilet facilities. We also have received our Safety Certificate for the ground, not a necessity for Club Licensing but we went for it and got it from the local authority.
“We could see what was coming when we prepared to go into the Highland League. Safety procedures had to be drawn up, first aid provision and the dressing rooms were put into good shape, we also now have a disabled toilet.
“You are required to have a certain amount of covered accommodation, seated and standing. The stand is an old wooden style it has served the purpose. When we put in a new stand over the summer it will be something to add to the facility
“There was a bit of foresight when the dressing rooms were upgraded and the enclose put in, so we could meet the SFA criteria”
