AFTER their resounding 6-2 win away at neighbours Huntly’s Christie Park on Monday (January 3), Inverurie Locos were left clicking their heels again last Saturday, the seventh successive weekend they’ve had no playing action.
Their home meeting with Brora Rangers at Harlaw Park was the last of eight League games postponed in the early morning on Saturday, an inevitability with overnight snow compounding the fact the pitch was already suffering from the effects of frost.
This Saturday they hope to get back playing and will face up to a mouth watering away trip to Victoria Park against League champions Buckie Thistle. Only one point separates the sides in second and third places and no doubt League leaders Turriff United would not be too heartbroken to see a share of the spoils.
The Jags were trounced 7-0 by Deveronvale at Banff in their New Year derby, prompting thoughts some players had one eye on their forthcoming Scottish Cup meeting with East Stirling at Ochilview.
Tommy Wilson should be free of work commitments to be considered while Neil McLean has served his one game suspension. It is a selection headache co-bosses Scott Buchan and Kenny Coull can cope with, having so many versatile players in top form at their disposal.
