Harlaw Park will host League Division Two side Arbroath in the next round of the William Hill Scottish Cup on Saturday.

INVERURIE Locos go into this Saturday’s William Hill Scottish Cup 3rd Round tie at home to Arbroath on the back of an unexpected day off.

Last Saturday’s Match of the Day with Cove Rangers was ruled out due to the unseasonal heavy snow on Friday night.

After scoring four goals in each of their previous two ties against Whitehill Welfare then Huntly, the Garioch side must go in confident against the side currently fourth in Division Two.

The Gayfielders have lost each of their last two League games on the road, 2-0 against Ayr United while the week before it was a 4-0 loss to Albion Rovers. Prior to that they lost out in the Ramsdens Challenge Cup Semi Final, 2-1 against Queen of the South after extra time

Managed by former Inverness Caley Thistle, Aberdeen and St Johnstone legend Paul Sheerin, now 38, the visitors’ best known names are fellow veterans, keeper Tony Bullock, defender Alex Keddie and journeyman striker Derek Holmes

It will be tough for a Locos side which is nearing full strength again, Andy Low netted two penalties in the 2-2 home draw with Deveronvale in Monday’s Aberdeenshire League game and is one player coming into contention.

Arbroath have meanwhile netted ten goals and conceded twenty one in their ten League games played.

Whoever comes out on top at Harlaw Park on Saturday, goals aplenty could be the order of the day.

Kick off is at 3pm
