Goalkeeper Stewart Gray will complete his season and round off an incredible nine months which has seen him feature for more clubs than many players manage in a career.
Having helped out Deveronvale by playing in the SFL Challenge Cup in the opening week due to the absence of James Blanchard he then joined Forres Mechanics to feature once in the league and once in the Scottish Cup because of a suspension for Stuart Knight.
Gray then stepped into the breach for Fort William after Jonathan Smith broke his wrist in a training ground accident before now returning to one of his former clubs for the remainder of the season. He has, of course, also given sterling service to Formartine United and Huntly.
Ironically in the absence of suspended Andy Reid, who was banned from the weekend League Cup loss at Lossie, Gray was not signed up in time to be either on the bench for the game or in goals
Last Friday co-manager Scott Buchan was pleased to see him back on a short term deal as they secure the additional cover
“The decision to sign Stewart makes sure we don’t get caught out and ensures we have cover should Daniel get injured. If we didn’t do this by now then it wouldn’t have been possible so we are just covering all angles.
“Obviously Stewart is a proven quality Highland League goalkeeper and will provide us with a safe pair of hands should he be required.”
