An extremely disappointed Inverurie Locos co-boss Scott Buchan said after the game, “Well done to Buckie Thistle and good luck to them in the Final, they beat us fair and square.

“It was very unlike us from a defensive sense, we gifted them goals. Although from Chris Angus’s point of view, it’s a great hat trick.

“The first one, he has hit across Andy Reid, the second was a tap in, for the third we had the ball five yards from their bye line. You could see what Jordan Leyden was trying to do but he has to execute it better. He gave possession and two passes later they’ve scored.

“But I cannot fault the guys for effort and commitment. They had lots of chances to go for it. Twenty corners, but you have to make more of it, there will always be poorer ones in a total like that but it was just not our day.

“Kevin Main is a good goalie, it’s what he’s there to do. Andy Reid has done the same for us on many occasions, it’s up to us to beat him

“We still have plenty to play for, second place to aim for and the Aberdeenshire Shield Final. So we can still finish with winners medals, regardless of the competition”
