Ice stops fishing at Lochter

COMPARED with last year when the lochs at Lochter Fishery, Oldmeldrum were frozen solid for almost three months, this winter has been kind to anglers. Up to this week there has always been some fishable water. That all came to a slithering halt when in the middle of the week temperatures plumeted, even the normally reliable Muckle Troot loch was frozen solid and the best efforts of man assisted by duck and swan failed to keep even a small area clear. That was the bad news. The good news is at the time of writing, there are fishable areas on all lochs and earlier in the week anglers were able to enjoy a bit of winter sport.
