Colony Park Saturday round-up

COLONY Park U19s, fresh from their win which sees them into the last eight of the Scottish Cup, faced CBC Hilton in the Murray Cup. With only 12 players fit including a long term injury to keeper Ryan Coutts this was never going to be an easy match and so it proved.

Trailing 1-0 at the interval Rory MACDONALD did score for Colony but in the end losing 3-1 was probably not the best preparation for this weeks looming Scottish Cup Quarter Final against Glenafton at Davidson Park.

The U17 Colts made a rare appearance at a freshly rolled Colony Park hosting Bervie Caley in the league . Much of the first half was a midfield battle but in an even contest the Colts eventually went down 2-0 .

The U17 Lads were in action at Davidson Park against Cove BC Colts but it was an unlucky day for them as they went down by 13 goals to nil in a one-sided affair.

The U16s had a Castle Trophies Shield Game against Westdyke at Lawsondale,Westhill and probably their last chance for silverware this season.

Westdyke started brightly and after 10 minutes had a great chance to take the lead when good play on the left saw a shot beat keeper Tristan Ross but was cleared off the line by Daniel Littlejohn only reaching another home forward whose shot was again blocked on the line again by Littlejohn and eventually cleared to safety by Mike Beverley.

Both teams had chances to take the lead and Ross made a couple of good saves with Westdyke also hitting the bar before Tom Williams shot just over the bar and Chris Hay hit the post for Colony.

In the second half playing with the wind Colony took a deserved lead when Connor ROSS shot from wide on the right which beat everyone before ending up in the back of the net.

Colony’s confidence grew and a cross from the right landed at Tom WILLIAMS feet and he lashed the ball into the net from 10 yards . Both teams had further chances to score and with 5 minutes left Ross made a great save to keep the score at 2-0.

The U16 Colts looked to bounce back from last weeks shock defeat, with Peterhead BC Colts the visitors to Davidson Park on Saturday.

The Colts showed their domination leading the blue tooners by four goal to nil at the interval. Kyle BROWN grabbed a first half brace with a Cameron GRANT finish and an own-goal sandwiched between.

Peterhead offered a bit more resistance second half and pulled one back before Michael WALLS added to the score line. Kyle BROWN completed an excellent hat-trick, bringing his tally to 4 goals in 4 games since his move to the Colts but with Peterhead getting a consolation goal Colony had to settle for a 6-2 home win which flattered the visitors.
