Garioch swimmers do Club proud

MEMBERS of the Garioch Amateur Swimming Club travelled to Peterhead on Saturday (February 11) to compete at the PASC Graded Age Group Meet.

Coaches Carol Holmes and Courtney O’Grady were proud of the swimmers achievements with them all gaining fantastic personal best times throughout the meet in conjunction with an abundance of speeding tickets and medals.

The medals / certificates were awarded to the following swimmers:

Female 14 & over / open:

Ruth Bryce (15): Speeding Ticket 100m free; silver 100m breast and 200mback; bronze 200m fly.

Hazel Johnston (14): gold 100m back.

Clara Douglas (16): bronze 100m breast.

Male 14 & over:

Peter Holmes (14): Speeding Ticket 100m breast; gold 100m free; silver 100m fly

Findlay Douglas (14): gold 100m breast and 100m fly.

Male 12-13 years:

Spencer O’Grady (12): gold 100m free

Female 12-13 years:

Sophie McPhee (12): silver 100m free.

Female 10-11 years:

Heather McIntosh (11): Speeding Ticket 100m back; 100m free; 100m breast.

Megan Brown (11): Speeding Ticket 100m free; bronze 100m breast.

Male 10-11 years:

Stuart Seymour (11): Speeding Ticket 100m free; silver 100m fly.

Louis Zeegers (11): gold 100m breast; silver 100m free.

Daniel McNally (12) and Daniel McKenzie (11) gained 13 and 12 second personal best times in the 100m fly and 100m free events, while Christy Johnston (12), Caitlin O’Shaughnessy (12), Sophie Stewart (12) and Lauren McPhee (10) also improved on their times thus contributing to making this an extremely successful team event.
