Gymnasts excel on debut

SIX gymnasts and their Coaches and Judges from Garioch Gymnastics Club in Inverurie travelled to Dunfermline for the Scottish Under 10 Development Competition on Saturday, (February 4).

For some of the young gymnasts this was their first 4-piece competition outside the club, and they competed very well and achieved the following fantastic results.

8 Year Olds: Olivia Allan-Cook: Sixth Overall; Sixth Floor; Sixth Bars.

9 Year Olds: Olivia Cordiner: Silver Overall; Silver Vault; Silver Bars; Silver Beam; Bronze Floor.

Eryn Thom: Bronze Overall; Gold Vault; Fourth Floor; Fifth Bars.

Amber Colley: Bronze Bars.

10 Year Olds Lucy Rae: Bronze Overall; Gold Beam; Bronze Vault; Fifth Bars

Hannah Redfern: Fifth Overall; Gold Bars; Fifth Beam; Sixth Floor.

Garioch Gymnastics Club in Inverurie is the most successful Women’s Artistic competitive gymnastics club in the North of Scotland. It also has an extensive participation programme on offer to boys and girls from four years of age.

The club, in conjunction with Aberdeenshire Council, offer a quality recreational gymnastics coaching programme at various venues in Inverurie and the surrounding area.

Recreational gymnastics classes are led by British Governing Body qualified and very experienced coaches, who are all PVG checked, in Inverurie, Insch, Kintore, Oldmeldrum, Kemnay, Newburgh and Monymusk.

As well as being fun, gymnastics has many physical benefits; improving flexibility, strength, balance, power, coordination and body awareness.

Garioch Gymnastics Club also run adult / freestyle classes (15+) in Inverurie on a Thursday evening, an excellent way to improve fitness while having fun, no talent, experience or booking necessary.
