China calling as Freyja heads east

LOCAL pentathlete Freyja Prentice will be back in action this week as she heads to China to take part in the 
latest World Cup at 
Chengdu.

Freyja, currently ranked 17th in the world, is part of a six strong team selected by Pentathlon GB to travel to China.

She is joined in the the Team GB women’s squad by 2012 silver medallist Samatha Murray and Kate French.

Sam Curry, Tom Toolis and Luke Tasker make up the men’s squad.

Jan Bartu, Pentathlon GB Performance Director, said: “Chengdu will be another opportunity for selected athletes to score points for the pentathlon world ranking list and hopefully achieve positive results for the British rankings, which will be used to select the teams for the European and World Championships later in the season.”
