A top rally driver from Ellon is revving up for the Granite City Rally this weekend.
Former 1600 Scottish Rally Champion Stevie Brown will race his Ford Fiesta ST with co-driver Jack Morton, which is supported by Stagecoach Bluebird.
After a one-year break from the sport, the pair will line up next to some of the UK’s best drivers at the third round of the ARR Craib Scottish Rally Championship on Saturday, April 26.
Colin McRae tribute award winner, Stevie said that it will take some time to get back up to full speed.
He said: “I think it’ll take us a few miles to get back in to the swing of things. This is our home event, so the local crowd with friends and family there is always a big boost and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Co-driver Jack Morton, from Newcastle, also knows a thing or two about speed as a member of the MSA Academy Junior co-driving programme.
Jack said: “This event has a good mix of technical and really fast sections, which are often lined with a row of trees on one side and a 80 foot drop on the other, so it makes my job to deliver the notes at the right time in the right way very important as there is such a small margin for error.”
