Garioch Gators, Doric Dolphins, Bankhead Academy and Fraserburgh swimmers made up the 28 strong Grampian Disability Sport entry for the Scottish Disability Sport Scottish Senior Championships (Learning Disability) at Scotstoun, Glasgow on 
Saturday (May 17).

With nearly 250 swimmers from throughout Scotland taking part competition was fierce over the 10 learning disability classes. The six swimmers from Garioch Gators maintained a high standard returning home with four medals and having achieved 
10 Personal Bests.

Calum Stewart and Jonathan Copus achieved PB’s and finals in several swims while Rachel Marr achieved gold in the 50m crawl, Scott Gauld bronze in the 25m crawl, Colin Telfer silver in the 25m backstroke and Andrew Stirling gold in the 25m butterfly. The four medal winner also achieved PB’s and final place in their swims.

Final scores from the eight Scottish regions taking part saw Grampian coming a respectable fourth in Scotland. Well done to all swimmers and thanks to those parents and staff who supported the swimmers on the day.
