Glittering start to year by gymnasts

GARIOCH Gymnastics Club kicked off the 2014 competition year with a glittering bang on Saturday at the U10 Development Competition at the Dulock Park Sports Centre, Dunfermline.

Seven young gymnasts, most of them at their first 4 piece competition, (Vault, Floor, Bars and Beam), brought 13 medals home to the Garioch.

These gymnasts are part of Garioch’s very successful competitive programme however, the club also has on offer an extensive participation programme for boys and girls aged 4+.

Results:

8 Year Olds: Eilidh Gault: Gold Overall, Gold Vault, Gold Bars, Fourth beam, Gold Floor; Grace Mackie: Silver Overall, Bronze Bars, Silver Beam; Milly Ironside: Fifth Overall, Bronze Vault, Gold Beam

9 Year Olds: Kirsten Wood: Bronze Overall, Silver Vault, Gold Bars, Fifth Floor; Amy Smith: Sixth Overall, Fifth bars, Sixth Floor; Brooke Mathieson: Bronze Beam; Savannah Cordiner

Garioch Gymnastics Club train at the Garioch Community Centre (behind the swimming pool) in Inverurie.

In conjunction with Aberdeenshire Council, they offer a quality recreational gymnastics coaching programme at various venues in Inverurie and the surrounding area.

Recreational gymnastics classes are led by British Governing Body qualified and very experienced coaches, who are all PVG checked, in Inverurie, Insch, Kintore, Oldmeldrum, Ellon, Kemnay and
Newburgh

The Club also run pre-school classes in Inverurie and Insch and adult / teens class in Inverurie.
