VERY mixed conditions here this week at Loch Insch Fishery with lures taking the bulk of our trout with the occasional dry flies tempting fish to the surface.
Local lad, Neil Dow, fished a Hopper to tempt 10 rainbows to the net and retired brothers E and J Marshall from Inverness and York netted nine rainbows, using gold head Damsels.
Stuart Linton from Bucksburn, caught eight using a WSW and orange Blob, and A. Webb from Tough, using a Diawl Bach and Cats Whisker, landed five.
Mrs. Berkin from Kemnay, netted herself a Troutmaster badge when she landed herself a 5lb rainbow, one of three fish totalling 10lbs 8oz, all taken on Buzzers.
Robert Fraser from Aberdeen kept two of his bag for 6lbs, which all fell to a black Hopper.
