HAVING celebrated League Championship success at Buckie Thistle in his second spell with the Jags, Graeme “Spider” Stewart is now officially back with Inverurie Locos having originally been signed under Dave Cormie’s managerial reign.
The former Inverness Caley Thistle, Peterhead and Montrose holding midfielder went to Victoria Park on loan from the SPL side in 2007 when Duncan Shearer was boss. And after the recent 2-1 victory for Locos over Huntly he started off his interview with John Innes for www.highlandleague.net by emphasising he had left on the best of terms He said, “I’m delighted to be back, it was just one of those things, travelling was getting too much, it was getting hard to get to Buckie on a Monday because of work so I was only training on a Wednesday and my fitnesss was going
“It’s the best three years I’ve had in football, where I won the League. I’d like to thank Gregg and the Chairman. I left on good terms. They thanked me by letter for the work I put in”
But now he looks ahead, and at Huntly he was due to have come on as an extra time sub before Craig Ross netted a last gasp winner
“I thought we did brilliant against Huntly, I was very impressed with them. At Buckie there were 6 or 7 midfielders, to win a League you need good players in there in the middle, I’ll bide my time All the boys want to win something, we want to win something before the end of the season”
