The Inverurie Choral Society is looking to welcome additional singers of all ages.

Founded in 1998, the choir sings a variety of music from classical to modern for two public concerts per year and also social events.

Reading music is an advantage but not essential and there are no auditions required to join.

The Society is also keen to start an Inverurie Young Singers’ Group for children aged 10 years and above.

Practice sessions for the regular choir are held on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in Inverurie West Church Hall.

Inverurie Young Singers practices will be held in the hall at an earlier time on Wednesday evenings.

An initial meeting for the Young Singers group will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 6.30pm in the West Church Hall, Inverurie.

All children aged 10 and over are welcome to attend to make the group become a reality.

For the regular choir, a taster session and rehearsal for this year’s summer concert will be held at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 20 at the West Church Hall, Inverurie.

Any local folk who enjoy singing in a choir are invited to come along and join in rehearsals for the June concert.

This year’s summer concert will be held on Saturday, June 4, at Inverurie Town Hall.

The theme for this year’s concert is “Melodies from the Movies”.

The choir will start learning songs from Mamma Mia at the taster session and rehearsal on Wednesday, April 20.
