Local artists are busily putting the final touches to preparations for their annual exhibition in Ellon.
The Ellon and District Art Group (EDAG) will hold the event on Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31, in the Upper Room of the Kirk Centre.
The main exhibits by members will be new paintings, photography, crafts and greetings cards with nearly all items for sale.
Opening times for the exhibition will be 9am until 8pm on Friday, and 9am until 4pm on Saturday, when the raffle will be drawn at the close.
First prize this year is an original painting, Daybreak Newburgh, donated by prominent local artist Pearl Ozanne.
Group chairman Barrie Seddon said: “We are looking forward to viewing our new members’ showpieces. Val Hudson will once again be exhibiting pyrography - creative art by burning images on to wood - which has proved most popular.
“There will also be fashion jewellery, knitwear, woodcraft and a silent auction.”
Exhibition chairperson Valerie Hudson added that EDAG members were all from the local community and were proud to have the opportunity to showcase their work.
She said: “We hope that the public enjoy our exhibition. Viewing is free and also allows them to make that small, or even significant, purchase for a loved one or themselves.”
EDAG meets on a Thursday from 10am until 2pm in the Kirk Centre’s Upper Room. Anyone wanting to join should contact the secretary, Carol Sangster, on 01651 842837.
