British Comedy Award winning ‘King of Comedy’ Jack Whitehall is on tour in 2014 with an all new live stand-up show.
The UK’s hottest comedic talent and star of Bad Education, Fresh Meat and A League of Their Own, is back with his most ambitious live stand-up tour to date; performing ‘in the round’ at some of the UK’s biggest venues.
Jack Whitehall’s Tour kicks off at the AECC Arena on Wednesday, March 5 before embarking on a Tour of the UK.
This is the first ever live stand-up Arena Tour by one of the UK’s hottest young comedy talents.
‘Jack Whitehall Gets Around’ is a brand-new show that will see Jack performing in Arenas ‘in the round’, a UK first for a solo stand-up Tour.
This Tour is his first since his critically acclaimed sell-out 2011 stand-up show, ‘Let’s Not Speak Of This Again’ and will run over two weeks in March.
Taking in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff and London, the Tour will see Jack return to his stand-up roots.
Over the last few years, Jack has firmly established himself as one of the country’s most successful young talents.
He cut his teeth at the Edinburgh Fringe, taking up four sell out shows over three consecutive years and earning an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination in the process with his debut show ‘Jack Whitehall: Learning Difficulties’.
Jack has gone on to host ‘Live At The Apollo’ and perform at the ‘Royal Variety Performance’, as well as the internationally prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Canada.
In addition, he has been nominated by ‘Variety’ as one of the ’10 Comics to Watch’ and in December 2012 won the King of Comedy award at the annual ‘British Comedy Awards’.
In addition to his stand-up, Jack has also built a successful TV and writing career.
As well as his role as JP in the award winning C4 series ‘Fresh Meat’, Jack has also written and stars in the acclaimed BBC Three sitcom ‘Bad Education’ and is a panellist on Sky1’s hit show, ‘A League Of Their Own’.
BBC Three viewers would have seen him host a brand new chat show, Backchat, with his dad Michael Whitehall recently.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director commented: “Comedy shows at AECC are always very popular and the addition of Jack Whitehall to 2014’s line-up follows on from other great comedians, such as Eddie Izzard and Micky Flanagan who played at the Venue in 2013.
“Jack Whitehall is a great addition to our line-up and we look forward to welcoming to the North East.”
Tickets for the show are on sale now, priced at £32.21 or £28.25 (NUS).
Tickets are available from Ticketmaster on 08444 77 9000 or online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
