The new year kicks off a new season of behind-the-scenes tours of Aberdeen’s Edwardian architectural gem His Majesty’s Theatre.
The Saturday morning 75-minute tours, which lift the curtain on the inside story of the day-to-day workings of the theatre, will be held at 10.30am on January 25, February 1, 8, 15 and 22, March 1, 8, 22 and 29 and April 5, 19 and 26.
Numbers are limited to only 20 people per tour on a first-come-first-served basis.
There’s an opportunity to get onstage and get a performers-eye view of one of the most beautiful theatres in Britain, then it’s backstage for a glimpse of the inner workings of a busy theatre - and pick up some inside knowledge of its spooky past.
Visitors can also explore the £7.8million modern extension.
Tickets cost £5 (£3 concession) and can be booked at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, at the Box Office at the Music Hall or His Majesty’s Theatre or by calling 01224 641122.
They are subject to availability and sell out very quickly.
Free tours for schools and community groups can be organised, according to availability and scheduling, and information on these and individual tours for groups is available from Aberdeen Performing Arts’ Creative Learning team on 01224 337684 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
