A local vinyl specialist has kindly donated a collection of rare and valuable records to be raffled off at a Battle of the Bands event organised by Stronachs LLP and FG Burnett for Children in Need.
Maidinvinyl Records, which has recently relocated its business from Inverurie to Rosemount in Aberdeen, has gifted limited edition vinyl albums by Grace Jones, Manic Street Preachers and Twenty One Pilots.
The collector’s items, not available in any mainstream record stores, will be included in the raffle at the upcoming Battle of the Bands event taking place at Babylon, Aberdeen tonight (Wednesday, October 5).
Robert Bruce, co-owner of Maidinvinyl, has been selling quality second-hand and new vinyl and CDs to collectors and music lovers from the North-east for more than four years.
He said: “For us, there’s nothing more enjoyable than recommending vinyl records for music fans, whether they’re lifelong vinyl fanatics or looking to start their first collection.
“These exclusive records are great additions to any vinyl collection and would attract a lot of interest in our exclusive Record Store Day sales. We think they’re a really fitting raffle prize for the charity battle of the bands event, which we hope is a great success.”
The event will be the fifth annual charity challenge between Stronachs and FG Burnett, with each business forming a band to take to the stage at Babylon from 6pm with all proceeds from the evening going to Children in Need.
Full service law firm Stronachs will be represented by Bobby and the Bobcats with partners Bobby McDonald on guitar, Hamish Lean on drums and Liz Stewart on vocals with solicitors Laura Bisset on bass guitar and Jennifer Love on keyboard.
Scottish commercial property consultancy FG Burnett’s band Where’s Watty? is made up by Jonathan Nesbitt on guitar, Stuart Fyvie on guitar and vocals and Graeme Watt on drums.
Each act must perform a song in a number of genres including pop, rock, country and western, Scottish, blues and original or mash-up with audience members having the power to decide who wins each round.
To purchase tickets contact Natalie Stevenson of Stronachs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Individual tickets are priced at £10, or tickets for group bookings of five people at £45 and food is included within the ticket price.
