Inverurie alive with The Sound of Music
BUZZ, Inverurie’s Musical Theatre Society are hoping to have their most successful show to date this November, when they stage the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic ‘The Sound of Music’ at Inverurie Town Hall.
Rehearsals are well underway, and under the Production Team of Ewen Bruce (Producer), Scott Jamieson (Director) and their new Musical Director Amanda Watt, the show is shaping up to be fantastic for all ages.
The leading role of Maria, made famous by Julie Andrews in the movie, and more recently by Connie Fisher in the West End, is to be played by Buzz regular Susie Whyte, and this year she will be joined by some young new recruits. Following a campaign to find youngsters to play the Von Trapp children, seven fantastic young stars are have been found in Rhona Johnston, Thomas Reid, Lisa Mitchell, Evan Duthie, Cara Whitelaw, Katy Johnson and Cara Scott.
“They have been working really hard and are already all working without their scripts, it’s keeping us grown-ups on our toes!” says Susie. “They have showed us they can all sing, act, and move well, and a lot of the famous numbers from the show are going to be really special thanks to these kids. It’s a big show, especially for the younger ones, but they are excellent and audiences are going to love them”.
Tickets are available now from the online box office at http://www.inverurieboxoffice.co.uk/ or by contacting Dan Greavey on 07901 856735, or any Buzz member.
