The 10k race and 5k fun run, which takes place on Saturday, April 12, are now regular fixtures on Scotland’s running calendar.

Flanking the Forth and Clyde Canal for most of the routes, the event boasts unique scenery, a mainly flat course, and the choice of two distances.

Deafblind Scotland Initiatives Officer, Drena O’Malley, said: “This year’s Canal Run is set to be the biggest yet.

“The support for the event has grown (continually) over the years and we have used runners’ feedback to improve both the 10k race and 5k fun run.”

This year’s event starts and ends near the Leisuredrome in Bishopbriggs, with registration for the 2pm 10k race closing at 1pm. The 5k fun run starts at 1.15pm with participants registering before 12.45pm.

10K SAF registered: £8, unattached: £10. 5k fun run SAF registered: £6, unattached: £8.

Cash and spot prizes will be presented on the day.
