New head teacher for Kemnay Academy
A new head teacher has recently been appointed at Kemnay Academy after the current head, Dr Charlie Hunter, retires.
Lizbeth Paul, 44, will begin her new role as head teacher in the new school term after the summer.
Lizbeth is looking forward to this next chapter in which she hopes her passion for teaching will help the pupils achieve their ambitions.
She said: “I believe in opportunity for all and achievement irrespective of background and want to share my enthusiasm and passion for learning with others.
“Education is always changing. The most exciting challenge for teaching staff now is to deliver a relevant curriculum to young people to prepare them for the world of work, life and learning.”
Lizbeth kicked off her career by teaching her favourite subject, History, to pupils at Bankhead Academy in 1994.
Throughout her career, Lizbeth has worked with staff in a number of different schools including Mackie Academy and more recently she was the acting head teacher at Mearns Academy.
Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Education, Learning and Leisure Committee Councillor Alison Evison said: “I welcome Lizbeth Paul to the role, to which she will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in leadership.”
